Accreditation process opens for WOQT in Japan

 

World champions Poland will be one of two European teams in the men's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Japan

Lausanne, Switzerland, April 15, 2016 - The accreditation process for the World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Japan, which also doubles as the Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament, is now officially open.

Journalists who have previously successfully registered through the FIVB's online accreditation system can log in to request accreditation here. For journalists who have not previously registered inside the FIVB's online accreditation system, they will need to follow the steps here. The deadline for accreditation for both tournaments is May 5, 2016.

Please refer to the User Reference Guide for more information. The guide provides a detailed description of how to fill in the online form and how to navigate and apply for accreditation once you have received your login details.

The World Olympic Qualification Tournament will take place in Japan from May 14 to 22 (Women) and from May 28 to June 5 (Men). Hosts Japan will be joined by the top three ranked teams from Asia per gender (Men: Australia, China and Iran / Women: Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan) as well as the second and third placed teams from the European Olympic Qualification Tournament (Men: France and Poland / Women: Netherlands and Italy), the second placed team from the South American Olympic Qualification Tournament (Men: Venezuela / Women: Peru) and the second placed team from the NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournament (Men: Canada / Women: Dominican Republic). The best ranked Asian team plus the top three ranked teams will qualify for the Olympics. If an Asian team is ranked among the top three, then the next ranked team will be qualified.
